PAF
Day Of Frag CS Tournement
This is not a LAN event - This
is an ONLINE EVENTto all.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and girls! PAF has
come forward to offer you all a once in a lifetime
opportunity. Now, we know what you’re thinking:
“PAF got nothing to offer me”. Well let me tell
you just how wrong you are!
PAF is planning it’s first ever Day o’ Frag
Counter-Strike Tournament! That’s right, a CS
Tournament! But not just any tournament, this
is a ONE-DAY tournament, to be held on March
1st, 2003. The whole thing will begin at 2pm
EST / 11am PST, and will wrap up more than 10
hours later! How are we going to do this? Nuclear
Fallout has graciously donated 2 extra servers
to this amazing event. 10 hours of CS battling
on 4 servers! If you’re not drooling by now,
you soon will be.
Not only does the winning team walk away with
the pride of being the first ever PAF DoF champions,
Nuclear Fallout will be donating 100% free of
charge one CS server to the winning team for
a whole 2, not 1, but 2 months! You didn’t think
we’d let you walk away prize-less, did you?
There are cash and gift prizes as well!
Now you may be saying: “What do I have to pay
to get a chance at this amazing offer?” Well
I’ll tell yah! A mere 10 buck registration fee
for your entire team! That's right, 1 leader,
4 players and 2 subs (alternates) split that
huge entrance fee of $10.00. Thats less than
$1.50 per person!!
Ok, so take a minute to close your jaw and
wipe away the drool. You’re going to need to
meet some requirements in order to join. First
of all, you need a team leader. This leader
will have to round up four of his best players
to take part in the matches. Each team is also
permitted to have two subs standing by in case
of emergency. This makes up to seven members,
with any five playing at once, but if you feel
like taking on all odds, and want to sign up
less than that, by all means, we aren’t going
to stop you.
So get your team together, and sign them up
ASAP. There are only 32 team slots available,
so hurry before they fill up.
But wait, there’s more! Each round will be
played first team to eleven format on one pre-chosen
map. However, the championship map will be best
of three maps. The championship maps are a special
surprise; A map pack will be released that contains
any custom maps for the DoF tourney.
To register your team, please visit the Day
o’ Frag Registration Section. For map names,
game play or server info; please refer to the
Info Section.

www.artofwarcentral.com
(AoWC) has partnered up with Valve (http://www.valvesoftware.com)
AoWC provides game servers for many games, including
games that are based off of Valves main engine Half
Life. AoWC has been around hosting game servers as
a business for over 2 years now, and has over 400
game servers hosted. They have made there name, by
providing High Performance game servers, and having
great Technical Support.
They also are known to give back to the gaming community,
by sponsoring teams like TAU, TEC, and GirlzClan (www.girlzclan.com).
AoWC understands that with out competing teams like
the teams they sponsor, there wouldn’t be much of
a market for game servers. www.artofwarcentral.com
has game servers located in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas,
and San Jose, so this way all teams can choose which
location is better for them for ping.
Valve is an entertainment software company founded
in 1996 by Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington and based
in Kirkland, Washington. Valve's debut product, Half-Life,
released in November, 1998, has won more than 50 Game
of the Year honors worldwide and has been called "a
smash hit" by the Wall Street Journal. Half-Life
was named "Best PC Game Ever" in the November
1999 issue of PC Gamer, the world's best-selling PC
games magazine. Half-Life is published by Sierra Studios.
Today, Valve comprises over 50 of the industry's leading
artists, programmers, and writers. In the company's
six-year history, it has risen from "unlikely
new entry" to industry leader - producing a string
of best-selling, critically-acclaimed PC entertainment
products.
These 2 business have teamed together To provide Content
Servers for Steam beta 2.0, which is the official
and only source to beta test CS 1.6.
Steam (http://steampowered.com)
is a broadband business platform for direct software
delivery and content management. At its core, Steam
is a distributed file system and shared set of technology
components that can be implemented into any software
application.
With Steam, developers are given integrated tools
for direct-content publishing, flexible billing, ensured-version
control, anti-cheating, anti-piracy, and more.
Steam consumers enjoy the benefit of starting their
favorite applications within minutes of confirming
their purchase. They can access their applications
from any PC. They are no longer challenged to find
the latest updates for these applications. And they
no longer need to wonder if their device drivers are
compatible with the latest software.
AoWC sees this as great and long relationship with
valve, steam and www.artofwarcentral.com,
